This summer is my 30-year anniversary of my spinal fusion and I wanted to commemorate the occasion with a new book! I Have Scoliosis too is a picture book introduction geared toward the younger patients and the perfect prequel to my memoir Growing Up with Scoliosis which details my journey from brace-wear through surgery and recovery.
Hope is the main character who doesn’t have to make this journey alone because she meets Emma. Emma loved wearing her back brace because she said it made her back feel straighter and she felt taller wearing it, but Hope thought she was just plain crazy. The two go on their journeys together. One curve progresses while the other does not and they are there for each other. This book is a must-have for any child coping with a scoliosis diagnosis and their families.
